Companies' responsibility to respect human rights and their tax responsibility should not rely on voluntary commitments. Finnwatch demands efficient and comprehensive legislation which can be used to hold companies accountable for human rights abuse and tax avoidance.

 

Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility

We are a member of the Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility which is a consultative body that supports administrative decision making. The Committee acts at the National Contact Point for the effective implementation of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises together with the Ministy of Economic Affairs and Employment. Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility 

As part of the national action plant for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, Finland has decided to organise a series of roundtable discussions on corporate social responsibility between stakeholder groups. Finnwatch participates in the roundtables as a civil society representative.

Civil society  campaign on tax havens

Finnwatch is party to NGOs' joint campaign against tax havens. The campaign urges the Finnish Government to put words into action in order to eliminate tax avoidance by large companies. Read more (in Finnish) >>
